Daniel McClure Fisher personally leads this service, but enquiries and engagements are handled within Dead Simple Computing Ltd's professional controls. The dedicated service email and routine telephone number are separate from the company's main sales and support routes; the email is a restricted DSC-controlled mailbox.

What we collect

If you use the contact form, Dead Simple Computing Ltd receives the contact details, organisation, enquiry category and message you choose to provide. If you use the dedicated email route, we receive the address, message and related email metadata. Do not put passwords, access keys, incident evidence, medical information or other unnecessary sensitive material in either channel.

If a telephone route is enabled, the telephone provider may process your number, the time and duration of the call, routing records and any voicemail you leave. A voicemail should contain only your name, organisation and a safe callback number, not incident details or access information.

The site also processes limited technical information needed for security: a one-way identifier derived from your IP address, submission times and whether a request succeeded or failed. The security log deliberately excludes your message and contact details.

Cloudflare Turnstile processes security signals such as your IP address, TLS and browser characteristics, user-agent, site key and the website origin to distinguish legitimate visitors from automated abuse. This integration does not send Cloudflare the information you type into the form.

After a form error, the details you submitted may be held temporarily in the server-side session so the form can restore them on the next page. The session cookie contains an identifier, not the enquiry itself.

Why we use it

Dead Simple Computing Ltd uses enquiry details to understand and respond to your request and, where appropriate, to take steps towards or administer a contract with you or your organisation. For other professional correspondence and protection of this website, we rely on legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and maintaining the security of the service.

We do not use contact-form information for unrelated marketing. Turnstile automatically decides whether a submission passes the anti-abuse check; it does not decide whether to accept an engagement or make a decision with legal or similarly significant effects about you.

Who handles it

The website is hosted by 20i. Contact-form messages are sent through Resend and delivered to a restricted dedicated mailbox controlled by Dead Simple Computing Ltd. The form is an ordinary email route, not an end-to-end encrypted channel, so it should be used for an initial outline or safe callback request rather than secrets or detailed incident material.

The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile for bot detection. The browser obtains a one-time security token from Cloudflare and this server asks Cloudflare to validate it before sending the message. Cloudflare explains that it acts as a processor when protecting this site and as a controller when using the security signals to improve Turnstile.

Resend says its primary processing operations take place in the United States. Its data processing addendum describes its UK transfer safeguards, including the UK addendum to the standard contractual clauses and the UK Extension to the Data Privacy Framework. Direct email may also be processed by your email provider and DSC's receiving-email provider.

If telephone or voicemail is enabled, the chosen telecommunications provider will process the routing and call information needed to operate it. The provider, any alerting or transcription service, and the applicable retention periods must be confirmed and added to this notice before a public telephone route is enabled.

This Daniel-led service and Dead Simple Computing's standard services use different contact routes, but they have the same legal entity and data controller. Enquiries about managed IT, certification, company incident response or delivery-team services should use DSC's main contact route and are explained by DSC's main privacy notice. Information submitted here is first handled through the restricted specialist-consultancy route. If an enquiry belongs in DSC's standard route, we will normally give you the correct contact details and ask you to use them rather than silently forwarding your original message.

Professional advisers may see relevant correspondence if it is reasonably necessary for legal, accounting or insurance purposes. Information may also be disclosed where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Routine enquiry correspondence is reviewed and normally deleted within 24 months of the last meaningful contact. If an enquiry becomes paid work, relevant correspondence may be kept for longer to meet Dead Simple Computing Ltd's contractual, tax, insurance or legal obligations.

Form details preserved after an error remain only in the temporary website session and are removed when retrieved or when that session expires. A daily scheduled cleanup is intended to remove rate-limiting records older than 24 hours. Hosting, bot-protection, email-delivery, inbox, telephone and voicemail records follow the retention settings of the services actually selected; those settings and any provider-side retention must be verified before launch and reflected here.

Cookies

This website sets one strictly necessary, session-only cookie to protect the contact form against forged requests and, after an error, reconnect you with temporarily preserved form details. It expires when you close the browser.

Cloudflare Turnstile may use strictly necessary security storage within its challenge service. This implementation uses Turnstile's default one-time token and does not enable the optional pre-clearance feature that issues a cf_clearance cookie on this domain. The site does not use audience analytics, advertising or marketing cookies.

Your choices and rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy. You may also object to particular uses. Not every right applies in every situation, but Dead Simple Computing Ltd will explain clearly if one does not.
